Schloss Wain stands at the wooded northeastern edge of the Biberach district, in Upper Swabia. Built in 1780-1781 for the wealthy Memmingen merchant Benedict von Herman, to designs by the Munich court architect Lorenzo Quaglio, it reflects the early Classicist style. The main building, a two-storey rendered structure with a central projecting bay, is flanked by wings that once housed the gardeners' and huntsmen's families, along with former stables and an enclosed park. Inside, a two-flight staircase survives, though the rooms were altered during the 18th and 19th centuries.
