Burg Biberach once stood on the hill overlooking the western edge of the old town of Biberach an der Riß, on the spot now occupied by the Gigelturm. First recorded around 1083, it is said to have belonged to the lords of Bibra and later the Staufer family, before being destroyed around the 13th century. Nothing of the original structure remains: the site is now built over by the town wall and the existing tower. A visit here means tracing the location of a vanished castle rather than seeing standing remains.
