Schloss Unterweikertshofen overlooks the Bavarian village that bears its name, standing on the left bank of the Glonn river. The present building was erected between 1610 and 1616 for Hans Sebastian von Adlzhausen und Weickhertshofen, replacing a medieval stronghold first recorded in the 12th century. Burned down by Swedish troops in 1633 during the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt in the following decades.
