Schloss Unternzenn stands apart from the village of Obernzenn, at the center of a walled complex that grew over more than seven centuries. The main house, a former moated residence, has a core dating to the 13th century and still forms a three-wing building arranged around a semicircular stair tower in the inner courtyard. Around it survive a complete working yard, with a steward's house, stable, barn, orangery and gardener's lodge, along with remnants of a landscape park laid out around 1800. The estate has belonged to the same family, the barons von Seckendorff, since the 15th century.
