To make a day of it

Schloss Unterbaar stands in Baar (Landkreis Aichach-Friedberg), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Schloss Unterbaar is a former moated manor house standing on three levels in Unterbaar, a district of the municipality of Baar. Its core dates back to the sixteenth century, when Michael Riederer had it built on a small island, before a Baroque remodeling in the early eighteenth century and a facade renovation in the 1920s gave it its present appearance. Notable features include the entrance portal with its segmental-arched canopy carried by carved double pillars, and the four polygonal corner turrets. The building now stands empty and overgrown, best viewed from outside across the bridge spanning what remains of its old moat.
