Schloss Spielberg stands in the hamlet of Spielberg, part of the municipality of Oberschweinbach, on the site of a medieval stronghold founded around 1150 by the lords of Spielberg. The present building, a four-towered Baroque structure later reworked in Rococo style, was erected in 1624 by the Imhoff patrician family after the old Burg was torn down. Alongside it stands the late Gothic castle chapel of St Cajetan, built in 1588 and later extended in the Baroque period. The complex later housed a Franciscan convent and has served as the Oberschweinbach town hall since 1998.
