Schloss Sommerswalde stands in the Schwante forest, in Oberkrämer, Brandenburg. Built between 1888 and 1891 for former lieutenant Richard Sommer, from designs by the Berlin architects Hans Abesser and Jürgen Kröger, the building echoes Paul Wallot's first design for the Reichstag, most notably in a dome that was later removed. It is flanked symmetrically by a neo-Gothic wing, an orangery in oriental style, a former forester's house and a battlemented brick stable evoking Berlin's Rotes Rathaus. The estate today houses a Kadampa Buddhist meditation centre.
