To make a day of it
Schloss Saathain stands in Röderland (Landkreis Elbe-Elster), in Brandenburg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Saathain, in Brandenburg, can no longer be visited as a castle in the usual sense: only its foundation walls remain, after a fire in April 1945 destroyed the building almost entirely. A terrace built on these remains once housed a café, now closed to the public due to the risk of collapse. The surrounding park was turned into a rose garden, with more than 70 rose varieties and around 5000 bushes, and remains a popular destination for walks. Nearby, the former manor church, a half-timbered building from 1629, has hosted concerts and exhibitions since its reopening in 1990.
