Schloss Retzin stands in the village of Retzin, part of Groß Pankow (Prignitz), in the Landkreis Prignitz, Brandenburg. The manor house was built from 1815 for the Gans zu Putlitz family and remodeled between 1882 and 1884 in the Italian neo-Renaissance style. The poet Gustav Gans zu Putlitz lived there and staged theatre and opera performances, even using a stage set up in the attic. The surrounding landscape park, laid out by gardener Eduard Neide, contains an old oak tree that became a family memorial site.
