Schloss Putbus stands in Putbus (Landkreis Vorpommern-Rügen), in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Putbus no longer stands: of this former residence of the princes of Putbus, on the island of Rügen, only the outline of its foundations in the lawn and the terrace that once stepped down toward the Swan Pond remain. Built on the site of a medieval stronghold, it had taken on a neoclassical appearance in the 19th century before being blown up in 1962 and completely cleared away under the East German government. The site today can be visited as an open green space where the ground plan of the former palace is still traceable.
