To make a day of it
Schloss Schlemmin stands in Schlemmin (Landkreis Vorpommern-Rügen), in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Schlemmin stands on the site of a medieval stronghold once held by the von Thun family, whose 14th-century foundations still underpin the present structure. Built between 1846 and 1850 to designs by Berlin architect Eduard Knoblauch for General Wilhelm Ulrich von Thun, the Gothic Revival building displays crenellated parapets, a round tower and stepped gables recalling older fortress architecture. Its surrounding landscape park, laid out in the 18th century and later reshaped in the English style, covers more than twenty hectares and remains open to visitors.
