To make a day of it

Schloss Ockstadt stands in Friedberg (Wetteraukreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Schloss Ockstadt, also known as Burg Ockstadt or Schloss Frankenstein, stands in Friedberg, in the Wetteraukreis, in Hesse, on a site first recorded in the early Middle Ages. The present fortified structure, with its four round corner towers, dates largely from the late 15th century, when Gottfried von Cleen had an older stronghold rebuilt. The residential wing and the outer bailey buildings were reshaped in the early 18th century under the von Frankenstein family, who had held the estate since 1522. The property is now in private hands, and part of the outer bailey houses a care facility for people with disabilities, which limits any visit to the grounds from outside.

What to know
