To make a day of it
Schloss Hohenthurm stands in Landsberg (Saalekreis), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
Schloss Hohenthurm stands at Landsberg, in the Saalekreis, on the site of a medieval stronghold of which a keep and a church survive. The present main building dates in its core from 1736, raised on the foundations of an older manorial brewery, but its current look owes much to a Neo-Renaissance remodelling carried out at the end of the 19th century, modelled on Dresden Castle. The estate passed through numerous owners over the centuries before becoming, after 1945, a plant-breeding institute of the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. The outline of the keep and the layout of buildings around the courtyard still recall the much older Burg that once stood here.
