Schloss Gerzen stands at the eastern end of the market square in Gerzen, in Lower Bavaria. Built in the 1560s in Renaissance style, it belonged from 1597 to the barons von Vieregg and later, from 1833, to the family of Count Maximilian von Montgelas, a former Bavarian state minister. Its gabled facade with framed windows and cornices is notable, as is the baroque chapel added around 1695, topped by a small onion-domed tower.
