Schloss Burgsteinfurt stands in Steinfurt (Kreis Steinfurt), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Burgsteinfurt stands on two artificial islands ringed by the Aa river, at the edge of Steinfurt's old town. It is regarded as the oldest moated castle site in Westphalia, its core going back to a square keep first recorded in 1129. Once the seat of the lords of Steinfurt and later of the princes of Bentheim-Steinfurt, the complex combines Romanesque remains, Gothic additions and later Baroque work, arranged in a near-circular layout around a twelfth-century double chapel. The estate still belongs to the princely family, who continue to live there.
