To make a day of it

Wasserschloss Wilkinghege stands in Münster (Münster), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 16th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Wasserschloss Wilkinghege stands in the Kinderhaus district of Münster, on the site of a moated stronghold first recorded in 1311. The present building, raised from 1550 for the von Steveninck zu Broich family, was reworked in 1719 in a baroque idiom by the architect Gottfried Laurenz Pictorius. Gutted by fire in 1958, it was rebuilt to resemble its earlier form. The estate now houses a hotel set within a golf course, so access is largely limited to its grounds and exterior.
