Schloss Bingenheim stands in Echzell, in the Wetteraukreis, Hesse, on the site of a stronghold first recorded in 1064. The surviving buildings, the Hoher Bau and the Langer Bau, mostly date from the 15th to 17th centuries, when Landgrave Wilhelm Christoph von Hessen-Homburg had it rebuilt as his residence in the manor-like form it still shows. Surrounded by now-dry moats and reached through an outer bailey via a stone bridge, the complex has housed a care and education institution since the mid-20th century, so its interior is closed to visitors. From outside, its late Gothic corner towers and 17th-century stepped gables remain visible.
