Built around 1295 by the Archbishopric of Mainz to threaten the nearby Burg Rheinberg, it survives only as scant remains of a small inner enclosure, a shield wall and a gate tower. Standing a few hundred metres from Burg Rheinberg, the site is privately owned and cannot be visited.

  • There are no opening hours, admission fees or visitor facilities at this site.
  • Burg Rheinberg, about 500 metres away and 75 metres higher, helps explain the Kammerburg's strategic position.
  • A residential building erected in the 1960s now occupies the former outer bailey area.
