Haus Vorhelm is a moated castle built on a system of six islands surrounded by moats, at the northern edge of the Vorhelm district of Ahlen. The main two-storey residential wing rests on a solid stone base topped by a timber-framed upper floor dating from around 1455, extended southward about a century later. The south wing, added at the start of the 17th century, features a stepped gable and a two-storey oriel window.
