To make a day of it
Felsburg stands in Felsberg (Schwalm-Eder-Kreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Felsburg rises above Felsberg on a basalt outcrop right in the middle of town, overlooking the Eder valley. Only part of this medieval stronghold survives today: a nearly 30-metre keep, a chapel dedicated to Saint Pancras, and remnants of late Gothic defensive walls. For centuries the site held strategic importance in the conflicts between Mainz and the Landgraves of Hesse, until French troops destroyed it in 1762.

- The castle is looked after by a local heritage association together with the Hessian state palaces and gardens administration.
