To make a day of it

Chanowskysches Schlösschen stands in Langenbrettach (Landkreis Heilbronn), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Chanowskysches Schlösschen stands in Brettach, a district of Langenbrettach, along the village's main street. This manor house from the early 17th century was built for Heinrich Chanowsky, a Bohemian nobleman who had fled his homeland over his Protestant faith, in the Mannerist style. The building now serves as the municipal administrative seat, yet its scrolled gable, carved coats of arms and vaulted cellar still recall its original purpose.

What to know

  • Since 2015 the building has housed the municipal offices of Langenbrettach, so visits are essentially limited to viewing the exterior.
  • From the street you can see the scrolled gable and the carved Chanowsky family coats of arms above the former cellar door.
  • The 17th century vaulted cellar, fed by a natural spring, is not open to public visits.
  • No verified opening hours or admission fees exist, as the building functions as a town hall rather than a visitor attraction.
