The Burg Winzer, also known as Schloss Oberwinzer, is a ruined hilltop castle overlooking the market town of Winzer from a hill called the Schlossberg, at an elevation of 347.6 metres. Built in the 11th century by ministerials of the Bishop of Bamberg, it passed through several noble families before being blown up in 1744 by Hungarian troops during the War of the Austrian Succession. What remains today are sections of the ring wall and two truncated towers, reaching up to eight metres in height, freely accessible to visitors.
