Schloss Egg stands in Bernried (Landkreis Deggendorf), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Egg stands in the municipality of Bernried, in Lower Bavaria, on a site inhabited since the Middle Ages. Founded in the 11th century as a moated defensive Burg in the Mettenbach valley, it passed through nearly a thousand years of owners, from the counts of Bogen to the dukes of Bavaria, before being thoroughly remodeled in the Romantic style around 1840. That transformation, commissioned by Count Joseph Ludwig von Armansperg, gave the building its present appearance, combining traces of a medieval stronghold with 19th-century Romantic features.
