Burg Polle stands in Polle (Landkreis Holzminden), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Polle rises on a rocky spur some 25 metres above the Weser river, overlooking the village of Polle in Lower Saxony. Built around 1200, it served as the seat of the Counts of Eversten before passing to the House of Welf in the early 15th century. Now a ruin following heavy damage during the Thirty Years' War, the site retains a climbable keep about 20 metres tall and a Renaissance gateway dated 1613 that once led into the lower bailey. A small museum on the grounds displays finds from archaeological excavations carried out between 2007 and 2009.
This place also features in The castles of the Brothers Grimm
