The Schloss Guttenberg overlooks the village of Guttenberg in the Landkreis Kulmbach, Bavaria. The site originally held two separate strongholds, Altguttenberg and Neuguttenberg, built by the von Guttenberg family from 1315 onward. Destroyed in 1523 during the Swabian League's campaign against robber knights in the region, only Neuguttenberg was rebuilt, and the present structure dates largely from a reconstruction following a fire in 1908. The building remains in the hands of the von und zu Guttenberg family.
