To make a day of it
Burg Eisenberg stands in Eisenberg (Landkreis Ostallgäu), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Eisenberg Castle stands as a ruin on a spur of the Tannheim Mountains north of Pfronten, forming together with neighbouring Hohenfreyberg a pair of silhouettes visible from afar. Raised around 1315 by the lords of Hohenegg, it retains its oval shield-wall enclosure without a central keep, along with remains of two residential buildings, a chapel and cellar vaults. A small square tower in the outer bailey, fitted with a wooden viewing platform, now serves as a lookout over Pfronten and the surrounding mountains.
