To make a day of it
Burg Cadolzburg stands in Cadolzburg (Landkreis Fürth), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Adult admission costs 8 EUR. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Cadolzburg stands at the heart of the market town of Cadolzburg, in the Landkreis Fürth, Bavaria. First recorded in 1157, its oldest surviving structures date from around 1250, when the Nuremberg burgraves Conrad I and his son Frederick III turned it into their residence. Under Albrecht Achilles of Brandenburg it became a hunting seat, and in the 15th century an oval defensive wall studded with bastions was built between the gate tower and the main building. The castle allows visitors to trace the layers of this Franconian princely residence across the centuries.
