To make a day of it

Boosenburg stands in Rüdesheim am Rhein (Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Boosenburg, also known as Oberburg, stands in Rüdesheim am Rhein, just above the Brömserburg on the right bank of the Rhine. Probably founded in the 12th century by the knights Fuchs von Rüdesheim, it retains from its medieval origins a massive, twice-stepped keep, later crowned with Gothic Revival battlements added in the 19th century. The surrounding buildings were demolished when the counts of Schönborn-Wiesentheid took possession and had the tower raised. Today the site combines the remains of the old fortress with a 19th-century Gothic Revival villa and houses a winery.
