Château Trompette stands in Bordeaux (Gironde), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
Château Trompette no longer stands: this Bordeaux fortress was completely demolished in the early 19th century, and its former site is now occupied by the Esplanade des Quinconces. Built after the Hundred Years' War on the order of Charles VII to control a city only recently retaken from the English, it was torn down, rebuilt as a citadel under Louis XIV, and eventually became an obstacle to the city's growth once peace returned. There is nothing left to visit on site, only the memory embedded in the layout of the district.
