What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château construit à la fin du 13e siècle pour Charles de Valois, frère de Philippe le Bel ; édifice terminé vers 1308. Château reconstruit par Charles V. Domaine confié à des chanoines, puis après 1791, transformé en ferme. Divers propriétaires se succèdent aux 19e (vers 1830, aménagement d'un parc et construction d'une maison) et 20e siècles, jusqu'en 1958 : acquisition par un industriel qui conforte les ruines et organise des visites et spectacles.
