Rochefort-sur-Brévon has known two successive fortified residences along the same stretch of river. The medieval castle, recorded from 1235, burned down in 1730 and left only a round dovecote and scattered remains. The building standing today was raised around 1820, using stones from a former priory house brought from the Val des Choues abbey, taken apart and rebuilt on site. Limestone rubble walls, a broken-pitch roof and an interior staircase make up its main architectural features.
