In Mauvilly, in the north of the Côte-d'Or, a castle estate has occupied the same site since the Middle Ages, evolving from a fortified stronghold into an agricultural country residence. The complex today consists of three separate buildings, the chapel building, the main château and the smaller château, set among gardens and water features. The property has belonged to the same family for over fifty years and still bears traces of each period of its history, from the medieval walls to the late 15th century chapel.
