To make a day of it

Château du Chef-du-Bois stands in La Roche-Jaudy (Côtes-d'Armor), in the Bretagne region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château du Chef du Bois stands in La Roche-Jaudy, in the Côtes-d'Armor, on the site of an older manor of which only a 16th century dovecote survives. Built in 1867 for a prefect who later became a senator, it presents a neo-17th-century granite façade flanked by pavilions and low wings. The grounds still hold a walled kitchen garden, traces of a small open-air theatre, and a long enclosure wall, remnants of a park that has since been altered. Since the 1960s the building has housed an agricultural school, which shapes how it can be visited.
