What the French Ministry of Culture records

Une allée de tilleuls, aménagée et plantée à partir de 1741, mène à la cour d'honneur du château, débouchant devant la grille de la cour des communs. Le château présente sa configuration des années 1750. Précédé d'une cour encadrée de dépendances, le château s'élève sur un quadrilatère entouré de douves sèches, accessible par deux ponts dormants. Côté cour, le corps de logis est encadré de deux pavillons carrés couverts de hauts combles. Cet édifice, construit entre 1617 et 1622, représente un jalon important de l'architecture de briques et pierre en Drouais.
