Château des Magnans stands in Jausiers (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first quarter of the 20th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
On the edge of Jausiers, along the road leading to the Col de la Bonette, a white mansion in a fanciful medieval style stands out against the mountain scenery. Built in the early 20th century for a merchant who made his fortune in Mexico, the château des Magnans takes its name from the valley's former silk industry. Inside, a stairway holds a stained-glass window by Louis Balmet and terracotta sculptures attributed to Clodion. The building was converted into a holiday residence and is now visited in that capacity.
