What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château original construit par Louis Cathus, familier de Louis II de la Trémoille. En 1525, Jean Cathus fait poursuivre la construction et l'embellissement du château. Au XVIIIe siècle, le château est délaissé par ses propriétaires. Au XIXe siècle, deux propriétaires successifs, Léon Aude vers 1850 et le Comte de Las Cases en 1876 restaurèrent le château : entre 1850 et 1860. En 1878, Las Cases fait achever le château par l'architecte Victor Clair.
