The château de Vitry-sur-Seine no longer stands: built in the early eighteenth century by architect Robert de Cotte for treasurer Claude-François Paparel, it was torn down in the early twentieth century after being damaged by the Seine flood of 1910. Its former site now lies within the grounds of the Danielle-Casanova secondary school, near the church of Saint-Germain. Nothing of the building remains visible today, apart from a doorway surround still standing on place Saint-Germain.
