In Villevieille, close to Sommières, a castle dating back to the 11th century still keeps four rectangular towers that predate the stay of Saint Louis in 1270. Later centuries added an honour courtyard and Renaissance façades reworked in the 18th century, with an upper floor decorated with Neapolitan plasterwork from 1764. The same family has lived there since Bernard de Pavée acquired it in 1529.
