To make a day of it

Château de Villargeault stands in L'Abergement-Sainte-Colombe (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de Villargeault stands on an oval moated mound in the flat countryside of the Bresse chalonnaise, in L'Abergement-Sainte-Colombe. The present building dates from 1888, raised on the ruins of an earlier château that burned down before the French Revolution, and combines brick and slate with pavilions and round stair turrets. A timber-framed farmhouse from the 17th century stands nearby to the south-east. As a private property, it is not open to visitors.
