In Vallabrix, in the Gard department, stands a Renaissance facade that once belonged to the local lords' castle. Carved with pilasters topped by Corinthian capitals, friezes and an elaborate cornice, it was moved from the village square to the back of a courtyard between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The original window openings are now bricked up, leaving a purely decorative front with no remaining interior function. The castle is privately owned today.
