What the French Ministry of Culture records

Aménagement paysager du site avec bassins, canaux et ruines romantiques au 18e siècle. Installation des bâtiments à fonction agricole au 19e siècle. Intégré dans l'important domaine rural de Terraqueuse, où des moulins étaient déjà attestés lors de l'achat de la baronnie de Calmont et de Terraqueuse en 1641, l'ensemble de deux moulins et leur dispositif n'a pas changé depuis 1834. Les moulins utilisent un système hydraulique inhabituel et original, par captation de cinq sources. Le moulin le plus ancien, transformé en maison d'habitation depuis la fin du 19e siècle vraisemblablement, est alimenté par un bassin ovoïde en brique contreforté en léger surplomb ; le plus récent, arrêté avant 1925, récupère en aval les eaux du canal de fuite du précédent formant sur quelques mètres un bassin également en brique. Il possède trois paires de meules disposées en triangle et sous une haute voûte les roues d'entraînement et les vestiges des équipements qui produisaient l'électricité jusqu'en 1960, subsistent également la conduite forcée et les arases de l'ancienne scierie adossée au moulin arrêtée vers 1950.
