Standing on a rocky spur above the Durance river, Tallard castle combines the remains of a medieval stronghold with a residence reworked during the Renaissance. Visitors can see a polygonal curtain wall lined with round towers, a partly ruined keep and a seigneurial chapel decorated in flamboyant Gothic style. The site went through the Wars of Religion and a fire in the late 17th century before being bought back and gradually restored from the early 20th century onward.
