Château de Soyans stands in Soyans (Drôme), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 10th century, 14th century, first half of the 16th century). No visits are on record for this building.
Perched on a rocky spur above the village of Soyans and the Roubion river, these ruins carry over a thousand years of history. First built between the late 9th and early 10th century, the structure was entirely rebuilt in Italian Renaissance style during the 16th century, before a fire in 1796 left it in ruins. No medieval remains have survived: what visitors see today are the remnants of the Renaissance residence, including its terraces. The nearby Saint-Marcel chapel is part of the same protected site.
