Château de Rosières stands in Saint-Seine-sur-Vingeanne (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 17th century). Adult admission costs 5 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on September 5, 2026.
Set on the banks of the Vingeanne river, the Château de Rosières retains the character of a 15th-century fortified manor, dominated by a massive square keep with walls nearly two metres thick. The Saint-Seine family, who fortified the estate to shelter local farmers during medieval wars, left their coat of arms throughout the building, while the Bernard-Maillard family added a classical pavilion decorated with frescoes in the 17th century. Visitors can still see machicolations, a watchtower, a complete wall walk and the original oak roof frame, along with historic rooms with painted ceilings or tiled floors.
