The château de Puilacher stands in the Hérault valley, at the heart of a family run wine estate where the old buildings and the vineyard now form a single landscape. Built in the early 17th century over the remains of an earlier structure, of which a boundary wall and the base of a tower still survive, it follows a T shaped plan with a round tower attached to the main block. The west facade retains a doorway with a broken pediment, flanked by Doric pilasters and topped with a niche, while a second doorway added in the 18th century opens onto the lane beneath an entablature decorated with metopes and triglyphs.
