Le château de La Tour est le témoin d’une seigneurie en Flandre, celle de Noordpeene, où s’est déroulée la bataille décisive (11-12 avril 1677) qui a vu se jouer, en partie, le sort des Provinces-Unies, en débouchant sur l’annexion à la France des villes de Valenciennes, Cambrai, Saint-Omer et Cassel. La demeure présente une façade uniformisée au 18e siècle, flanquée de deux tours carrées, et une autre plus composite. Les douves entourant le château témoignent de l’ancienneté du site. Le décor intérieur reflète une manière de vivre confortablement à la campagne. Un des deux salons conserve un ensemble de dessus de portes dus à Alexis Bafcop, peintre cassellois de renom, représentant quatre scènes de la vie quotidienne.
