Built in the early 18th century for the Roll-Montpellier family, wealthy merchants from Bayonne, this château on the banks of the Adour river typifies the country houses that the local bourgeoisie of the Bas-Adour region built for themselves in the classical era. Its rectangular main building, flanked by two pavilions, faces the river from a paved terrace leading down to a paved landing stage. Inside, the entrance hall still has its wrought-iron staircase railing from the early 1700s. A larger set of outbuildings, added in the 19th century, rounds out the estate.
