What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château, élevé au 17e siècle par la famille de Montigny, présente un plan en fer à cheval et est ponctué de quatre tours circulaires. Sur la façade postérieure, se trouve un beau fronton sculpté en terre cuite. La façade antérieure a été modifiée au début du 20e siècle par la construction d'une grosse tour polygonale. La famille d'Estampes, qui a acquis ce domaine en 1836, a largement transformé les intérieurs. Derrière les écuries du château, la faïencerie du château de Montigny à Perreux a fonctionné de 1735 à 1812.
