The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first half of the 16th century, third quarter of the 17th century, 18th century, 19th century). What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château a été commencé vers 1500, et achevé en 1546 par la chapelle seigneuriale. Il a subi une restauration vers 1668 (agrandissement du parc, clôture du domaine). Des transformations ont été opérées au 18e siècle (ouverture de la cour, déplacement de l'entrée, escalier monumental). Le domaine a été acquis en 1834 par l'abbé Eude, qui y a installé un orphelinat (aile droite surélevée en 1840, parc laissé à l'abandon, construction d'une grande chapelle entre 1861 et 1864). Des nouvelles constructions ont été édifiées entre 1865 et 1904, encore utilisées par l'Institution Saint-Joseph.
