To make a day of it

Château de Magnanville stands in Magnanville (Yvelines), in the Île-de-France region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de Magnanville, in the Yvelines, is no longer the building admired by eighteenth-century visitors: the lavish residence raised between 1750 and 1753 by architect François II Franque for tax farmer Charles Savalette was lost in the early nineteenth century. The present structure, more modest, dates from 1807 and was built for Baron Robillard de Magnanville. It now houses a care facility for the elderly, making it a site of historical interest rather than a monument open for touristic visits.
